Try Something New Revolution Update #4/BRATZ

Be Childlike
Ok. So today's challenge is to be childlike which is actually a really big dilemma for me since I couldn't think of anything to do. I already have seen all the barbie movies, I have seen most of the new Monster High webisodes (a while ago when Katy and I were hanging out we wanted to see what Mattel had been up to over the years so we went to Mattel.com and played all the old MyScene games and barbie games that we use to love and then we discovered Monster High so we watch it sometimes at like 1 am when I stay over at her place and it is completely hilarious especially when you watch things that happen in the background), I have seen all of Kim Possible and Totally Spies and Bratz the TV show episodes and movies.  But then it hit me (not literally of course). I was listening to some of the Bratz songs on youtube while studying for my last midterm of this year (YAY :) ) and then in the side bar there was a link to the BRATZ real life movie! Now, truth be told I have seen this before but it was such along time ago so I pretty much forgot everything that happened in it, well except that I didn't like it.

But for this mission I am going 2 watch said movie and review it 4 you :)

BRATZ THE REAL LIFE MOVIE REVIEW

You know those movies that are so bad that there good (since they are so funny)? Well this movie isn't that case. Actually, this movie had some real problems. If you don't know, it's about these four girls (Yasmine played by Nathalia Ramos, Sasha played by Logan Browning, Chloe played by Skyler Shaye, and Jade played by Janel Parrish) who are best friends going to High School but when they get there they break off and go into clicks. But then one day the mean girl president played by Chelsea Kane aka Chelsea Staubs, sends her dog over to get Chloe to stop talking to a guy named Cameron which cause Chloe to drop her lunch over the Balcony hitting Jade's head and causing a food fight. After the food fight, the girls are sent to detention where they make up and become best friends again and decide to destroy the social class system by beating the mean girl president, Meredith, at the talent show.

I loved the BRATZ TV show ever since I was little and this movie is either a really poor interpretation or some parody. Now I'm not trying to be really mean or anything but this movie just made no sense.

1) They were off on the character's personalities like how they made Chloe this nice, shy soccer star when in the TV show although she is good at soccer she is really confident and wants to be an ACTRESS!

2) Dylan is the weird, funny guy friend who is again JUST A FRIEND. Yet in this movie they make the girls find Dylan attractive, have Dylan and Yasmine become love interests (when in the TV show Yasmine is with a guy named Eitan who I guess in the real world doesn't exist), and on top of all that they make Dylan Deaf. In truth, I wouldn't care if Dylan was deaf except this movie is based of a TV show and if it is based of a TV show they should at least try to be true to the characters.

3) This movie includes prejudice beliefs that Asians have to be studious. I'm not saying Asians aren't smart but I actually enjoyed how in the TV show Jade wasn't a stereotypical bookworm yet was a girl who wanted to become a fashion designer and Chloe, the drama queen, is the one who cares about grades. Yet, again this movie made Jade super smart and made her dress up like a nerd around her parents and then when she was at school she had her friends huddle around her as she changed her clothes IN THE MIDDLE OF THE PARKING LOT! I'm sorry but even if this is movie land where flying monkeys and unicorns can exist, You just don't change you clothes in a crowded parking lot in the front of your school where everyone can see you. Hello, couldn't she just go to the bathroom like any normal person?!?

4) Pretty much this movie is filled with stereotypes, like how Meredith is the typical annoying mean girl. At least in the TV show the Twevils had the whole twin thing going for them along with how Cassy always had a noise job since whenever she got one something would happen to it to cause it to break.

This movie has a lot more issues than just this but in totally this movie is prejudice, cheezy and inaccurate to the actual BRATZ. Fortunately, this movie was so bad that it made me want to go back and re-watch some of the old Bratz episodes that little Nikki would have loved.

Thanks 4 taking the time 2 read my rant and if u skimmed it that that's ok too :)

All that's left to say is challenge completed :)

TTFN,

Nikki
